This 8 song CD features Don on the NS/Stick. The songs and lyrics take you through melodic lush arrangements,
groovin' rock to 'Rammstein-esk' like beats of "Louienstein", (a song complete with
it's own language). The instrumental solo piece "With life in
Hand" really gives you a clue as to what the NS/Stick can do and goes
"all out" from the bass to the melody side creating a full
body of sounds and arrangements far beyond that of one instrument. The production is very
tight and groove oriented with drum loops and live drums as well, featuring the talents of Bob Doo. Bob has been teamed with Don on quite a few album projects in the past making him a natural choice to accompany him on this solo project.

This CD features Don playing the Grand Stick both in an instrumental setting as in the tracks
"Timeless" and "Assassin's Notebook", as well as featuring the instruments ability to be a great
full range accompaniment to his songs and vocals.
"Emmett's Prelude" has a wonderful guest artist appearance by non other than the
Stick's inventor himself Emmett Chapman on a "Prelude" to the song that follows
"Rise". This piece is "Classic" Emmett Chapman in sound and performance.
"Timeless" has a warm well-produced sound with lots of ethnic percussion throughout. Joining Don on this album are Greg Ellis on percussion and John
Snider on drums. The songs feature the writing talents of two of his long time writing partners
Tully Winfield (gold album for their song "Cerebral Man" Pat
Benatar and Lance Matthew (Solo artist/producer - plus numerous album song credits and movie scores).

Along with the first ever release of Don Schiff's amazing Chapman Stick solo piece "Inspirations on Life" which is always a high point of the live
set, this Special Digipak edition which was created for Lana and Erik's April/May 2001 European Tour. This CD contains 73:34 of recent live and studio recordings from Lana, Erik and their backing band. Previously unreleased live tracks include "Fanfare for the Dragon Isle/Fly" and "In the Flesh?/Oblivion Days" recorded at Progfest 2000 with the Rocket Scientists band. Other studio tracks include Erik's "Alchemy and Astronomy" (17:10!), "Rome is Burning" and Lana's "Astrology Suite" (16:01!) which is a medley of the three "Astrology" tracks from her 2000
"Secrets of Astrology'" release. Also includes newly remastered live version of Lana's "In the Court of the Crimson King" from Tokyo, Japan in 1999. Includes new liner notes from Erik Norlander and color photos. For fans of Lana Lane, Erik Norlander and Rocket Scientists, this is a must-have collectors edition.
