While The Giant Sleeps
$8.99
Great Rock singer Lance Matthew. I'm so proud to be a part of this artists work. Some of the best rock you'll ever hear. We toured Europe a few times in support of this album and the follow up album "Carousel". 1995 release

Walk Me Through The Fire
[4:15]
Tully Winfield and I wrote this for and with Lance for this album. One of my favorites. Great studio band. At that time along with Lance and myself , Monty Byrom , Bill Mason , Greg Ellis, John Snider, to name a few who are not only great session men but are from many known bands, (Eddie Money, Dave Mason, Edgar Winter to name a few --that I remember).

Right Way
[4:54]
Wonderful nuances in vocals, arrangement and background harmonies. Deluxe vintage guitar wah solo by Lance. I remember they rented all the classic amps, guitars along with classic hardware eq, like the "pultec', Neve Board, Lexicon reverbs (all before they were plug ins!) I played my 4 string bass for most of this album and Stick on some.

She Ain't One Of The Boys
[4:48]
Stylin' drivin' and rockin' tune. Driving 8th bass lines (yes I had fun). Upon hearing these tunes whilst they download, I'm thrilled again and again at the attention to sonic detail, production and all round classic good taste in true AOR Rock production. Engineered and Recorded mainly at Woodcliff Studio with Frank Rosato.

Land Of Dreams
[5:14]
I remember recording this one, just sittin' back watchin' Lance sing this lovely ballad out. It tugged at my heart especially as I have gotten to know he and his family. He and I are are still constantly in touch plowing through life together. A rare gem and best friend.

Still Believe In You
[4:39]
I remember coming up with that little bass riff in the intro, one of those deluxe moments where you play something and everyone looks up and gives ya 'The Nod". What I love about melodic Rock is it wide open for melodic bass lines./ It still gives me chills to hear Lance singing this Chorus.

While The Giant Sleeps
[4:33]
Title Track: When I heard this one in the studio I thought "Oh my!' this is gonna be fun. There were no charts, ya listen and learn as it was shown to you. I kept thinkin' " Is this in 4/4... oh what the heck its fun, ride it out".

Be Like You
[4:39]
I enjoy Lances story lyrics as he takes us vocally and emotionally through fate. I Like the surprise bridge as you don't expect it harmonically to go there. On tour I'd play the Stick mostly and use a 'leslie cabinet' for the melody site, just lovely sounding.

Shades Of Gray
[4:55]
I loved playing the "Stick" on this song, nice it got to have it's moment in the intro. The tricky part was it is primarily a 4ths bassline kind of song and the Stick bass side is in 5ths. I got very good at switching from playing both kinds of 5ths to 4ths lines with "Gusto!"
Fun crazy wild guitar solo, not only can he sing but what a 'musician'. I was always so proud to be on stage with him, ya felt 'bigger' as he is a larger than life kind of guy. Think Elvis and John Wayne combined.

Knew You When
[4:01]
Fun tune and another I got to play Stick on. Such fun guitar tones both electric and acoustic. Upon sticking (no pun intended) my head in this mix I like the punch of the kick drum with the Stick bass tone. They compliment each-other well. To this day Lance has the coolest acoustic guitar sound that he overdrives. He is very creative. A rhythm festival of acoustic strumming, Stick tapping and drumming.
